The Colorado MED (Marijuana Enforcement Division) stipulates acceptable and unacceptable forms of identification. Any temporary document will not be accepted as valid ID to prove the age and residency of a customer. All IDs must be damage free – e.g dog chewed your ID? you might have trouble buying marijuana. Same thing goes for cracks or holes in the ID. If you can hold your ID card up to a bright light and see light through the card – go get a new ID.
Note- some dispensaries *might* allow you to shop if you ID is a bit beaten up but still legible and intact. The rule of thumb, set by the MED, is that if identification has been damaged or tampered with it should not be accepted.
